PAHRI is in support for the immediate commercialization of BT corn in the Philippines.

To erase all doubts on the safety of BT corn we went to the U.S.A. and talked to knowledgeable experts on biotechnology of corn. We even went to the University of Nebraska where scientists lectured us on the safety and advantages of genetically modified corn and soybeans, which are acceptable in the western world.

We, therefore, wish that the Office of the President would come out with the appropriate executive order implementing the commercialization of BT corn as this will not only reduce the cost of production of corn but its yield as well and solve the perennial problem of corn shortage for the poultry and swine feeds.
